An Ottoman, a Mummy Ottoman and a little round Mini Me Ottoman

luxury furnishings Ottoman re-upholstery

Intrigued?

So I found a little Ottoman in need of recovering and knew straight away which fabric I wanted to design for it.. It was practically shouting 'Cathedral' and I'd already designed the top fabric repeat plus lining in my head. Here have a little look at the lining design....

As I omitted to take a before photo of the small rectangular ottoman before i stripped it back to re- cover I shall skip ahead to talk about the Mini Me Ottoman. I found cute round footstool/ottoman which looked like this originally.

round footstoll before recovering

Not pretty and no feet, soon rectified as after stripping it right back I put cute little round feet on it.

Now this one was also calling out to be covered in the Cathedral fabric, probably because my tall tube lamp and drum shape lampshade look so good with this design. So I edited and sized all the fabrics from the small rectangular ottoman to fit perfectly on this round footstool. Had the fabrics printed and got to work upholstering. This is how it turned out.

...and so back to the original small rectangular footstool.... here are the after photos

Now this one went for its first outing at the Craft in Focus - RHS Wisley and Living  Crafts - Hatfield House Shows, while at the same time I had shown it to my wonderful Facebook followers, with the effect that Janice at the Hatfield Show wanted it and Jane on Facebook wanted it too..... swift bit of messaging around established that as it was a smaller ottoman it was perfect for Janice and I would make another larger ottoman for Jane. Every one happy and I got to source another one in need of re-covering. Which is where the Mummy Ottoman comes in.

About halfway through the re-upholstering Jane, should be ready for delivery about mid July, after the Childwickbury Art Fair that I'm selling and demonstrating my silk painting at.
