Can you imagine all the colours of a peachy sunset in your kitchen? Warm hues of soft blue through golden peach to a good strong magenta. Vibrant, folky and Intricate. Draw you in and create a talking point. Well that's exactly what they did here.
Back in September 2023 Hannah first contacted me with the words 'We love the sunset in Magenta'. Music to my ears. Not only did they love the mix the loved the option with more deep magenta in it (by the way there is a whole other blog on how I came to design this sunset mix in 2021).
Followed by, could we get a sample tile to check how it looks against units and work top counter. The answer to this is of course Yes (so readers please do ask me if you're interested in the bigger tile mixes), although I advised that two tiles one with the stronger colours and one with the softer colours to give them an even better idea of a match. These are the two I sent.
Wonderful to receive these pictures about a week later. The two tiles set against the selected cupboard and counter colours. I've said it before and I'll say it again my customers constantly inspire me on how to put together a room using my designs. Love them against the very dark blue, wood and lighter counter.
80 tiles were ordered and I had the joy of making all those fabulous colours. Really cheerful colours filling the workshop benches. I pack carefully, send them off and hope I'll receive picture in he future. And I did...
In March 2024 I got this picture with the 80 tiles on the wall, with the message 'I've attached a picture and I think you'll agree they look amazing'
Plus asking for another 40 tiles to go all the way to the ends. This picture does show how they can look as a behind hob only placement though. I happily made another 40, also felt pretty sure I'd get to see the finished kitchen at some point.
They didn't disappoint, Reg sent me lots of really great pictures this week. It really is one of my favourite things receiving these pictures, gets me doing a little happy dance.

I couldn't ask for a better display of how to use them best. Wonderful splash of warming colours in a beautifully styled kitchen.
I've been thinking on a word a phrase on how I view using highly decorative elements in a sleek home. I love maximalist decor but in my own home I prefer it in parts. One wall like this with the rest cool and calm. 'Stylish Maximalism' or Maximalist Accents' perhaps. What do you think?
I'd love to be challenged to design more mixes around a theme like this. I was sent a picture of an Italian sunset by a friend for this one. Maybe an Autumnal one.. Go on challenge me. Comment below or contact me by email.

This has helped me so much and to know that you are happy to work with clients on colour mixes is amazing. I’m at the research stage at the moment but once we start our renovation next summer I can’t wait to use your tiles, they’re gloriously joyful and vibrant.
