We all love a bit of 'Atmosphere'

We all love a bit of 'Atmosphere'

My latest bespoke lampshade is off to the US... I often send pieces to the United States but this is the first time I've sent a lampshade. On a visit to see family in the UK last June I met Tony and Judy James at my Open Studios, at which they purchased a set of Table Mats and Coasters. They kindly sent me pictures of the mats with the china plates they matched them to, at home in the US. While at the Open Studios they loved the Floor Standing Lamps and Lampshades commenting on the beautiful atmosphere they created...

Lost in a 'Forest Meditation' while demonstrating my Art

Lost in a 'Forest Meditation' while demonstrating my Art

Paint big, or not at all! That was my decision when embarking on doing more demonstrations at the art and design shows. So where a show organizer could accommodate a large demo area I went for it. As I omitted to take a before photo of the small rectangular ottoman before i stripped it back to re- cover I shall skip ahead to talk about the Mini Me Ottoman. I found cute round footstool/ottoman which looked like this originally. Not pretty and no feet, soon rectified as...

Metamorphosis into a Butterfly.... my latest re upholstered chair.

Metamorphosis into a Butterfly.... my latest re upholstered chair.

Now this was so much fun to do! The brief for this 'Bespoke Order' was for a chair that was small enough to fit in a bedroom, with a seat high enough for an older person to get up from, in colours to match  the mainly plum coloured room, bringing in the colours of a grey and plum original painting featuring sleepy cats (bought previously from me) as well as to bring in a few complimentary colours to lift the room. So first I found a suitable chair to re upholster. I loved the contemporary shape of this one and ...
